Compost Collection Services
The average home, business and institution generate considerable amounts of discarded food. Our collection service picks up that material and puts it back into the local food system and economy, instead of sending to the landfill to get wasted and create pollution. We provide full service collection for businesses, institutions, and community recycling centers. The food scraps we collect are used to raise more food and replenish local soils. Some of the food scraps we collect come back to the farm where they are blended into a compost mix with farm-generated manures, hay and active compost and fed to our laying hens, offsetting our need for imported feed. What’s left over is made into compost and high potency worm castings.
Residential Drop Off Points

Commercial Compost Collection
Black Dirt Farm offers weekly compost collection service for businesses, schools, and institutions. We provide the tools, materials, and training to make recycling food scraps easy and efficient. More on our Collection Service>
Solidarity Through Service
In support of this wonderful community of ours, we provide complimentary compost services to Lakeview Elementary, Four Seasons Early Learning Center, and residents of Greensboro & Stannard. We offer donations of our High Potency Worm Castings to local non-profits.
